I am looking at the Hypertech ThermoMaster chip (pn#351722) coupled with a PowerStat 160 degree thermostat. These two parts cost about $150. Does anybody know what kind of gains (hp, torque, mpg), if any I would be looking at with a chip like this? Also would this have a positive or negative impact on my fuel economy? Thanks for your help!

If I were you I wouldn’t bother with the chip.I have done some research for my 94′ gmc and it seems that you get much higher gains if you take it to a professional and have it reprogrammed for what you want…
I agree with the other guy. You should go to TBIchips.com and let them make you a custom chip. That thermostat is a good move. You may want a little warmer one if you live in a cold climate, but if you live in the south, 160 should be just fine. Any gains in fuel mileage won’t be real drastic, but you should gain some. You should be up on power a bit too. I’d suggest that you get an exhaust and a cold air intake before you get a custom tune. That way the tuner can compensate for it when he makes your chip. Good luck.
